when you transfer to UVa-Wise.

to help you easily transfer your community college
credits.
Dual Enrollment: Earn college credit while in high
school with an 80% to 90% savings on MECC’s tuition
and even greater savings when you transfer
these credits to a 4-year college or university.
Governor’s School: Earn college credit with free
tuition by attending MECC’s Governor’s School during
the summer.
Decided? Undecided?
Perhaps you have chosen a major and a college
to attend, or you know what you want to major
in, but haven’t decided on the college, or you
haven’t chosen a major, but have an idea of the
college, or you have made no decisions about a
major or a college!
Mountain Empire Community College is the place
to begin. The College Transfer program at MECC
prepares you to enter a four-year college or
university to complete a bachelor’s degree. The
courses in MECC’s College Transfer program
parallel those taken by freshmen and sophomores
at other colleges and universities, and graduating
from MECC with an Associate of Arts and Sciences
degree can gain you junior status when you
transfer. Approved MECC courses will transfer to
other higher education institutions.
