Student Art Show Exhibited at MECC

Currently on display at Mountain Empire Community College is a show featuring student creations and designs.  A variety of art is represented in the exhibit including work from students in courses such as Drawing I and II, Painting, Graphic Design, and 2-D Design.  Also on display are winning drawings and paintings from the recent Explorations Arts Competition.  The show will be exhibited in the Slemp Gallery at MECC until May 4.

Individuals featuring drawings in the exhibit are MECC students Jon Adkins, Heather Begley, Alicia Brooks, Ashley Brooks, Daniel Cooper, Stevie Couch, Brandon Dean, Loretta Dorton, Rebekah Dutton, Lindsay Feagins, Shane Flanary, Mitchell Griffith, Lynlee Hall, Kayla Halsey, Jennifer Hardison, Crystal Hilton, Brandi Hoskins, Greg James, Ryan Massingill, Candace Miller, and Melissa Robinson.

Paintings by Regina Egan, Roy Davis, Carrie Mongle, Miranda Peters, and Megan Varner are also featured in the show.  Student Aaron Robinson contributed work from his 2-D Design class, while Jon Adkins and Brent Miller contributed pieces from their Computer Graphics courses.

The Slemp Gallery is located in the Wampler Library of Robb Hall. Hours are 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.  Additional drawings and paintings can be seen on the second floor of Godwin Hall.

Mountain Empire Community College student Aaron Robinson created this 2-D design, which is currently on display in the 2007 Student Art Show.  The exhibit will be shown in the Slemp Gallery on campus until May 4.
