MECC Hosts College Night

On Monday, September 11, Mountain Empire Community College will host College Night from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. with approximately 40 colleges represented.  The event will be held in the Goodloe Center, located in Phillips-Taylor Hall on campus. High school students from Dickenson, Lee, Scott, Wise Counties, and the City of Norton are invited to attend. 

College Night gives students a chance to learn about the different colleges and universities available to them for higher education.  It also gives them the opportunity to meet and talk with each college representative about the school they may be interested in attending.

Representatives from the following colleges and universities will be in attendance at College Night:  Alice Lloyd College, Berea College, Bluefield College, Bridgewater College, Christopher Newport University, College of William and Mary, Concord University, ECPI Technical College, East Tennessee State University, Emory and Henry College, Ferrum College, Gardner Webb University, Hampden-Sydney College, James Madison University, King College, Lees-McRae College, Liberty University, Lincoln Memorial University, Longwood University, Mary Baldwin College, Milligan College, Mountain Empire Community College, Mountain State University, Old Dominion University, Radford University, Roanoke College, Shenandoah University, Sweet Briar College, University of Mary Washington, University of Virginia, University of Virginia’s College at Wise, Virginia Army National Guard, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Intermont College, Virginia Military Institute, Virginia Tech, Virginia Wesleyan College, and Western Carolina University.

These representatives will each have a table set up in the Goodloe Center.  Students can stop by each table to pick up information and applications for the schools in attendance.  For more information about College Night, contact the MECC Talent Search office at (276) 523-2400, extension 312 or 333.
