Winners Announced in Auto World – MECC Golf Classic

In a field of 27 teams, the A & A Security Services team with a score of 52 was the first place winner in Division A of the 2006 Auto World – MECC Golf Classic, held on May 19 at Lonesome Pine Country Club. Players on the team were J.D. Adams, Charlie Nichols, Tim Robinette, and Adam Mahan.  First place in Division B was the Reedy Coal Company team with a score of 59. Players included Junior Sandlin, David Hampton, Trillis Adams, and Kendall Boggs. 

Second place in Division A went to the Crutchfield Corporation team, made up of members Dan Minahan, Doug DePriester, Wes Needham, and Jason Johnson.  Their team score was 53.  Second place in Division B was the Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital team with a score of 60. Players were Robert Polahar, Bobby Collins, Phil Lee, and Terry Suarez.

Third place finishers in Division A were the New Peoples Bank team of Ron Woody, Ryan Woody, Johnny Poole, and Mike Hillman.  Their team score was 54.  For Division B, third place went to the Big Stone Glass team with a score of 62. Players were Jason Adams, Chad Swinney, Hank Swinney, and Shawn Perry.

Other winners were Pat Kenney, who won the Putting Contest, and T. J. Fryatt, who won the Chipping Contest.  Both received a $75 gift certificate for the pro shop, sponsored by Mountain Empire Realty.  Ryan Woody and Vernon Williams also received prizes for winning events at the tournament.  Woody won the most Accurate Drive Contest, while Williams won the Closest to the Pin Contest.  Each of these winners received $50 gift certificates from Sportswise.
