Mountain Empire Community College
King College offers MBA and BBA at MECC

Beginning this spring, students who completed a bachelor’s degree now have the opportunity to obtain their master’s degree on the Mountain Empire Community College (MECC) campus through King College’s Master of Business Administration (MBA).  Also, MECC students who earn an associate degree now have the opportunity to obtain their bachelor’s degree through King College’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program.  These programs will save students the cost and time of traveling to the main campus, and coursework may be completed in as little as 16 months.

“The convenient location is ideal for MECC students because they are already acclimated to the campus,” says Matt Peltier, dean of academic affairs at King.  “Starting the BBA program is a natural next step for many students who are looking to combine their associate degree course of study with a business degree.  This can be a very marketable combination for career opportunities.  King’s BBA degree is also well-known for helping students move up the career ladder or transition from a current area of expertise to a new one.”

Designed to eliminate the adult-learner challenges, the program is unique in several respects.  Students are enrolled in a small group, usually 16 to 20 people who remain together as a cohort.  For both the MBA and BBA programs, students only take one business course at a time for the entire 16-month program.  Courses are typically completed in five weeks.  The BBA program offers a bachelor’s degree focused in Management.  Students can choose either an HR or Operations Management focus.  The MBA program offers specializations in marketing, management, finance, and healthcare administration.

King College is located in Bristol, Tennessee, and is a private comprehensive college founded in the Presbyterian tradition.  For more information about applying to the BBA program and available financial aid opportunities, call (423) 652-4861 or visit the King College website at www.king.edu
