The Culinary Institute of America-   For an application and detailed scholarship information, please visit their Web site at www.ciachef.edu.  Deadline for scholarships application is usually in April .

Johnson and Wales University Scholarship - The National High School Chef of the Year contest, with more than $600,000 in scholarship awards.

You may request a printed brochure and entry form by calling Johnson & Wales toll free at 1-800-342-5598 or you may visit http://culinary.jwu.edu/content1263.html and print a copy.

Do Something BRICK Awards- The Do Something BRICK Awards honors six outstanding youth leaders who develop a project to improve their community. 

Maximum award:  $5,000 scholarship and a $5,000 grant

Eligibility:  students age 18 and under

Deadline:  Usually in October

 "Lend A Hand...Get A Board" Scholarships & Prizes

Campbells Soup Company is providing scholarships and other prizes to teens who volunteer in community service activities in their communities.  FCCLA members who have been involved in successful community service projects may be interested in applying!  Teens can be self-nominated or nominated by a friend, parent, or teacher.  Nominations usually have an early March deadline.  Details, rules, and forms can be found at www.lendahandgetaboard.com .

 National FCCLA Scholarships

  Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
National FCCLA has been invited to become a part of the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, which recognizes outstanding young volunteers.   VAFCS Outstanding High School Senior Award
The Virginia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences offers this award (non-monetary) to an outstanding senior who has been actively involved in Family and Consumer Sciences courses and activities in the state. Applications are due each year by February 1. Visit their Web site at www.vafcs-aafcs.org. for information.

  Virginia Association of Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences (VATFACS) – Helen Hopper and Martha Creighton Scholarships
These two scholarships are awarded annually by the VATFACS organization to promote enrollment in college Family and Consumer Sciences education programs or enrollment in post-secondary education programs in a FACS curriculum area. For information about the Helen Hopper and the Martha Creighton scholarships, contact Emily O'Conner at ejoconner@erols.com . The applications are due postmarked by April 15.
