National
& State FCCLA Affiliation
FCCLA advisers can now complete their per person chapter affiliation
"on line" with the national organization. Check the national organization's
Web site at www.fcclainc.org
for details and instructions. Affiliation materials are also mailed
from national FCCLA to chapters in August and may be used by those
who prefer to affiliate by mail.
If your chapter did not
receive the affiliation mailing, identifiable by the "Be Part
Of It" logo in the lower left corner, please contact the national
organization at (703) 476-4900 and ask for assistance with chapter
affiliation.
Virginia chapters affiliate
with the state association through the national organization, paying
both state and national dues to the national organization. National
FCCLA then forwards the state's portion of the dues payment to the
state association.
National FCCLA
is offering free publications as an affiliation incentive for 2008.

Middle
Level Affiliation Option
Because of the exploratory nature of our middle school programs,
Virginia FCCLA encourages middle level chapters to consider affiliating
with national FCCLA through a special option designed to involve
our younger students in the organization.
A chapter membership package
is available that would include all middle-level Family & Consumer
Sciences students in your program (regardless of the number of teachers
in the school) as national FCCLA members for one lump sum dues payment.
This option is available for students in grades 8 and below and
is offered to accommodate the unique characteristics of FACS programs
in grades 8 and below. The middle level chapter fee establishes
all middle-level family and consumer sciences students as national
FCCLA members. Attach a copy of class rosters to the affiliation
form, and add additional names throughout the year as necessary.
Eligibility:
Any middle level school in self-selected states can enroll all of
its students currently or previously enrolled in a Family and Consumer
Sciences education class.
National & State
Affiliation Fee:
$600/school (Equivalent to 50 members at $12.00 each)
Benefits:
. Cost effective for middle level schools with more than 50 students
attending FACS classes during the school year.
. All students are eligible to participate in all national programs,
attend A+ and Cluster Meetings as well as the National Leadership
Meeting.
. The school will receive 50 copies of Teen Times and 50 membership
cards to divide and distribute to each student participating in
the program.
. Teachers/advisers will receive a copy of The Adviser.

sum dues payment.
