What is Virginia FCCLA?
It is the ultimate leadership experience!  The Virginia FCCLA Association is a state affiliate of the national organization of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Inc.

FCCLA is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education. Nationally, there are over 225,000 members in 53 state associations, including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns, including school violence, teen pregnancy, parenting, family relations, community service, substance abuse, peer pressure, leadership, nutrition and fitness, and career exploration.

Who is eligible to join FCCLA? 
FCCLA is an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum.  Because the organization is co-curricular in structure, any student, through grade twelve, who is taking or has taken a course in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) is eligible to belong to FCCLA. In Virginia, nearly 12,000 students, in approximately 250 chapters, are members of this exciting organization. Involvement in FCCLA offers them the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life - planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication - necessary in the home and workplace.
