Taking a college course over the Internet can be a convenient and an exciting learning experience. However, Web courses can also be difficult and frustrating for students who are unprepared for this manner of learning. Internet courses are not easier than courses on campus, and most students feel that they take more time than comparable courses taught on campus.
Web courses also demand certain skills and technologies. It is your responsibility to make sure you are prepared with the appropriate skills and materials. It is your instructor's job to assist you in the content area of the course and to teach you to use Microsoft Word to format aspects of your writings particular to the course you are taking. However, it is not your instructor's job teach you the basic use of the Web, a computer, or software programs.
