What courses may be used as a College Transfer Elective?

An elective is a course you choose, according to your personal interests. The only stipulations are that it must transfer to the senior institution you will attend after you graduate from Mountain Empire Community College.

Use the College Transfer Guide to check if and how the course will transfer. If the course is not listed in the transfer guide, do not take it: it will probably not transfer to the senior institution. Copies of the transfer guide are available at the Student Services Office. The guide is also available under the “STUDENT” link on the Mountain Empire Community College website.

Because each senior institution varies in what it will accept, it is important to make the decision on where you will transfer prior to the beginning of your second year at Mountain Empire Community College.
