Crime Statistics
Campus crime statistics are updated annually to provide 3 years worth of information about crimes occurring on the college campus, at unobstructed public areas immediately adjacent to or running through the campus, and at certain non-campus locations. The current report is available at http://www.mecc.edu/ir/5facilities-finances.pdf. A paper copy is available upon request by contacting the Security Office at (276) 523-7473.
Safety and Security Policies
Policies and procedures related to campus safety are posted in every classroom and office on campus and are available in the MECC Emergency Plan at http://www.me.vccs.edu/policy/section6.pdf
Incident Reporting
If you have knowledge of a safety or security infraction occurring on the MECC campus or at college sponsored events, you may report them by calling the Security Office at (276) 523-7473 or at http://www.mecc.edu/dept/finan-admin/security/SecForm.htm. Telephones have been installed in every classroom and hallway and in parking lots for reporting emergencies. A log of incidents reported to campus security is available to the public during normal business hours by contacting Campus Security at (276) 523-7473. Certain limited information may be withheld to protect victim confidentiality, ensure the integrity of ongoing investigations, or to keep a suspect from fleeing.
