In partnership with every community college in Virginia, Old Dominion University's TELETECHNET program delivers graduate and upper division undergraduate courses to place-bound students throughout the Commonwealth. In Big Stone Gap, Mountain Empire Community College provides the course work required for the first two years of study and Old Dominion University, through an integrated system of video, computer, and audio signals, provides the final two years of course work leading to a baccalaureate or master's degree. Students are able to complete the entire degree program on the Mountain Empire Community College campus.Site directors administer the program at each location, with registration, financial aid and advising available to assist students in their academic pursuits.
The fully-accredited program is designed for part-time attendance, catering to the adult student who may be working full-time and carrying other responsibilities. Classes are offered from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Occasionally a class is offered on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
